If our job was not hard enough the lawyers, who should all be strung up, do their absolute best to let the buggers free!

Now, I know my job and I would never arrest anybody unless I knew they were guilty.

So I have decided that I can be silent no longer! I fully intend using this forum to vent my feelings about the issues of the day that effect your honest, hard working, long suffering and may I say under paid police force.

Enough kicking of the police! That’s our job!

As time draws closer I always seem to remember just in time that I should probably write it!

Oh I see, you thought our Murder Mystery Weekend wrote itself?

Leaving it to the last minute is quite normal.  Don’t you find that the best ideas come at the last minute?

I am really looking forward to watching the movie and singing the songs.

It wasn’t all play though.  We had one night of work! Well, when I say night I mean one hour of work.

We performed a murder mystery plot called Fiddler on the Cruise and even had Captain Alistair McLundie as one of the murder suspects.  He played Carl Park and it was great fun.  He took to acting far too easily!  We also used Jemma and Kayley from the ship, who were great fun on stage.  A special thank you to Jemma for being my singing partner for the night and taking the time to learn a song at short notice.  We changed the script once we knew the Captain was performing.  Jemma and I got to pull the Captain around the dance floor trying to find his character a wife.

Then it was back to the cruise with six meals a day and now I am home for Christmas.  When will the eating stop?

200 guests assembled in Grange-Over-Sands to solve the ultimate murder mystery.  This was an event with a difference in that everyone that attended are regular customers so the atmosphere was similar to a huge family party.

As murder mystery weekend breaks go this was a beauty as on the Saturday evening everyone came dressed as Super Chief Super Intendant Cropper the policeman in charge of proceedings.  We even had a Cropper look and sound-a-like competition that was eventually won by Richard Nicholls.  Tracy Melvin-Stephenson came a very close second.  It was one of those had to be there situations but it was very funny.

The other thing that happened is that Barbara knitted a Police Jumper for my lovely pooch Oscar.  You can see him wearing it below.  Does he look happy?  Thank you Barbara I was really touched by it, even if Oscar was underwhelmed by the whole experience of modelling it!

There will also be a Super Chief Super Intendent Cropper best impersonation competition on the Saturday evening.  The winner will not only have to look like him but be able to strut their stuff like him too.

There are over 200 guests attending on the 11th Nov and approx. 60 on the 18th Nov.  It’s gonna be a lot of fun!
